You have carried me beyond my limitations. It is like I am gliding with my feet off the ground, trusting in a heavenly harness. It is the ride of faith.
You know my weaknesses, for they are very great. Without grace I would truly be a failure and destroyer, But, you have lifted me up in Christ's favor. You turn all things for good. Faith and risk go together. What a great risks must be taken in every Christian's life.
My feet are clear off the ground with no visible security of this future route. I must take your word for it and hope with all my heart. This is the walk of faith, where it is all by grace. What a peculiar idea - so alien to human nature and earthly living.
"Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?"- Exodus 15:11

The Ride of Circumstance
We experience an unworldly freedom when our circumstances no longer have the power to dictate our moods, reactions, and emotions. So often, human emotions are enslaved to a ride of circumstance. It starts a cycle of behaving and living in a way that will gratify the desire for joy at all costs. It breeds a human monster of selfishness and self-centeredness, because only when things go our way, or when great things happen, can we be happy. We get the opportunity everyday however, to walk over the defeat of our beastly flesh; yet what an impossibility in the human power! There is always occasion for learning contentment and the ability for it in Christ. "..for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content"- Philippians 4:11. Be encouraged, that it is allowed for us to still be learning contentment; since, it is a thing that cannot come naturally, but must be learned.
It is a supernatural victory to have joy in suffering and great hope in hopeless circumstances. The impossible living of the Christian is so paradoxically wonderful and outer-worldly. We have the resources in God to bear fruit in drought and to remain an evergreen, even when the rains delay. Rivers of living water may flow from our hearts whenever we believe Jesus.
The root of most of my dismay and discouragement comes from circumstances that I cannot see beyond. When I am sad, and really stop to think about why, I realize that there is someplace where my unbelief has darkened my hope and joy. I am not believing in God's forgiveness perhaps, or not believing that His love and faithfulness will conquer the mess I have made; maybe I am not believing that God has my best in mind, even in a seemingly "contradictory" circumstance. Maybe we just don't believe God will bless us, or answer a long delayed prayer. But, God blesses us because He is good and delights to show mercy. God will bless you. You dont have to be good enough for God to bless you. In fact, He may even withhold some blessings until you realize that they cannot be deserved or earned. "The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made"- Psalm 145:9.

12-14-12... Dear Families of the Connecticut Children,
Born for another world, they were taken in the dawn of life.
Innocent and beautiful, of whom this world is not worthy. They
passed away, carried by angels into Heaven’s arms.
Mom and dad are shattered with broken hearts. grief too
unbearable to speak.
Little saints are comforted and received in the Father’s
embrace. He holds them close in precious healing and very real, everlasting
life. You won’t hear their sweet voices in your home anymore, but they will lift up their voices now to sing in His.
Mom and dad, brothers and sisters, no one can take this grief from you – it has
wiped the wind from your lungs. The pain
is like a dagger tearing into your heart as reality hits over and over.
Nothing can remove this suffering that cannot be escaped; but you must
head straight into it like a great oncoming wave. Right now it is too faint to see,
but there is a glimmer of light that will grow into hope for your family. Know
that “Jesus wept.”
Jesus groaned. “Therefore, when Jesus saw
her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit
and was troubled”- John 11:33-35. It was not supposed to be like this, men were
not supposed to die. It was not supposed to be this way.
“Jesus wept.”
Your little ones are safe and loved more than you would ever
be capable of loving them. Soon your heart will be able to see them dancing
before the King in joy unspeakable. In a wisdom we cannot yet understand, they have perhaps been spared from greater evil to come.
"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"- Romans 12:21
"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"- Romans 12:21
Once the devil asked me if God was still good. but we don't speak to him. Yes, God is still good!
“Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him…”
You will survive this. And now you must seek to go to them,
for they can never return to you here. They
live there! Believe God and you will be together again. He holds your tears in a bottle and
not one is lost or unseen. God is there keeping all the shattered pieces
together and holding you when you are too weak to breathe.

From My Upmost For HIs Highest today!
"The Great Life
Dec 14, 2012
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled . . . —John 14:27
God’s mark of approval, whenever you obey Him, is peace. He sends an immeasurable, deep peace; not a natural peace, “as the world gives,” but the peace of Jesus. Whenever peace does not come, wait until it does, or seek to find out why it is not coming. If you are acting on your own impulse, or out of a sense of the heroic, to be seen by others, the peace of Jesus will not exhibit itself. This shows no unity with God or confidence in Him. The spirit of simplicity, clarity, and unity is born through the Holy Spirit, not through your decisions. God counters our self-willed decisions with an appeal for simplicity and unity.
My questions arise whenever I cease to obey. When I do obey God, problems come, not between me and God, but as a means to keep my mind examining with amazement the revealed truth of God. But any problem that comes between God and myself is the result of disobedience. Any problem that comes while I obey God (and there will be many), increases my overjoyed delight, because I know that my Father knows and cares, and I can watch and anticipate how He will unravel my problems."

"And will not be Anxious..."
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit"- Jeremiah 17:7-8
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit"- Jeremiah 17:7-8
There is a temptation to see the walk with God as a sprint.
But, truly it is a marathon that requires endurance, perseverance, and faith to
finish well. There will be times of sprinting and soaring on wings like eagles.
But, then we can also expect times where it will just be walking and not
growing faint -perhaps in the year of disappointment, unending challenges, or
drought. The life of Christ has power to overcome these times, and His waters
cause us to still bear fruit in them. Perhaps the season of drought is where you
may bear the most fruit and not realize it.
Those who are called to teach are usually the ones who have
the most to learn. God’s faithfulness must be proven in our own lives; we must
be willing to be proven. Teachers can teach others the faithfulness of God out
of the Bible, but God desires His testimony of faithfulness to be real and teachable
from our own lives as well. I am able to comfort with the comfort I have
received, and I cannot give what I do not have.
It is the good that opposes the best, and the soul’s
greatest battle is having faith for the best. Our culture is so immediate and
so impatient. It has affected all of the newest generations. We forget that is
it through “patience and faith that we inherit the promises.” It may be a good time now, but it will be the best time later. I used to see the Christian life as a sprint
and expected immediate fulfillment of promises. At first, all my faith could handle
was marvelous displays, visible results, and quick fulfillments. Then God
deemed necessary to test and stretch me. This happened with delays, disappointments,
humiliations (most needed and deserved!), and seasons of drought. I must say
however, that there was never a cessation of blessing. In fact, I think I have learned
to be more appreciative of blessings and more able to see them in the time of
drought than ever. Though I did complain and did not always pass a test
graciously, I can look back and marvel at what God has done. I can rejoice
that all of it was worth it - Jesus is worth it! - and I would never change a thing.
God wants to give us
a strong and believing heart in prayer. He wants to enlarge our hearts to be
sensitive to the Spirit, loving, and steadfast in the storm. The greatest gift
is found in the time of “disappointment.” I found that gift to be Jesus. When
all else “failed,” He stayed faithful
and true. When all else was “dry,” He was the river that cooled and
refreshed the
depths of my thirsty soul. Jesus is the exceeding, great Reward to be
had in the waiting (Genesis 15:1).
It takes these times for us, as it did Abraham, to know Jesus more - not
just in word or in the
soaring, but in the walking and not growing faint. When Jesus becomes
known to us the deep, constant lover of the soul and sustainer of
abundant life.
“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are
suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that
you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when
his glory is revealed”-1 Peter 4:12.
I found that in the year of drought, the greatest
victories of the soul have been won. It can be a time of joy unspeakable,
because you are able to delight yourself in the Lord without competition. The
year of drought is a divine appointment with
Jesus, where your heart can truly discover delighting itself in the Lord
-
without any earthly incentive attached. Being in it for God, because of
God,
and not for what we will get from Him (though "Bless the LORD, O my
soul, and forget not all his benefits"!- Psalm 103:2). Do not be anxious
in the year of
drought; you are chosen and blessed to endure it with Jesus. And you
will not
cease to bear fruit, when your hope is in the Lord. You may not see the
rain
coming, but it is because your roots must instead spread out deeper to
find His water. Do not give up, but lean hard onto the Lord. “Come,
everyone who
thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat!
Come,
buy wine and milk without money and without price”- Isaiah 55:1.
Sometimes God just
wants us to appreciate what we do have, and what He has already graciously and
abundantly given. “Whom having not seen, you love; in whom, though now you see
him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:”- 1
Peter 1:8.
The night is so short compared to the brightness of day, and
will be soon forgotten. Rejoice, because God loves you and will perfect that
which concerns you. Soon, you will be able to teach and comfort others, and you
will be like one founded upon the solid Rock, tried and tested with battle
scars of victory. Will you be the only person in Heaven without battle scars? I
think not, but they will be a testament to God’s overcoming power and beauty of
victory in the life of faith.
“Would you like to be there and see yourself pointed at as
the one saint who never knew a sorrow? Oh, no! for you would be an alien in the
midst of the sacred brotherhood. We will be content to share the battle, for we
shall soon wear the crown and wave the palm.” –C. H. Spurgeon

God's Mysterious Dealings
"Thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons" (2 Kings 4:4).
"They were to be alone with God, for they were not dealing with the laws of nature, nor human government, nor the church, nor the priesthood, nor even with the great prophet of God, but they must needs be isolated from all creatures, from all leaning circumstances, from all props of human reason, and swung off, as it were, into the vast blue inter-stellar space, hanging on God alone, in touch with the fountain of miracles.
Here is a part in the programme of God's dealings, a secret chamber of isolation in prayer and faith which every soul must enter that is very fruitful.
There are times and places where God will form a mysterious wall around
us, and cut away all props, and all the ordinary ways of doing things,
and shut us up to something Divine, which is utterly new and unexpected,
something that old circumstances do not fit into, where we do not know
just what will happen, where God is cutting the cloth of our lives on a
new pattern, where He makes us look to Himself.
Most religious people live in a sort of treadmill
life, where they can calculate almost everything that will happen, but
the souls that God leads out into immediate and special dealings, He
shuts in where all they know is that God has hold of them, and is
dealing with them, and their expectation is from Him alone."
Like this widow, we must be detached from outward things and attached
inwardly to the Lord alone in order to see His wonders. --Soul Food

In the sorest trials God often makes the sweetest discoveries of Himself. --Gems
"God sometimes shuts the door and shuts us in,
That He may speak, perchance through grief or pain,
And softly, heart to heart, above the din,
May tell some precious thought to us again."

"Once I heard a song of sweetness,
As it cleft the morning air,
Sounding in its blest completeness,
Like a tender, pleading prayer;
And I sought to find the singer,
Whence the wondrous song was borne;
And I found a bird, sore wounded,
Pinioned by a cruel thorn.
I have seen a soul in sadness,
While its wings with pain were furl’d,
Giving hope, and cheer and gladness
That should bless a weeping world;
And I knew that life of sweetness,
Was of pain and sorrow row borne,
And a stricken soul was singing,
With its heart against a thorn.
Ye are told of One who loved you,
Of a Saviour crucified,
Ye are told of nails that pinioned,
And a spear that pierced His side;
Ye are told of cruel scourging,
Of a Saviour bearing scorn,
And He died for your salvation,
With His brow against a thorn.
Ye “are not above the Master.”
Will you breathe a sweet refrain?
And His grace will be sufficient,
When your heart is pierced with pain.
Will you live to bless His loved ones,
Tho’ your life be bruised and torn,
Like the bird that sang so sweetly,
With its heart against a thorn?"

What did it feel like when the pure hands of Jesus held my face and wiped my eyes? His love pours forth as oil over my head, mixing with my tears- of eternal joy and happiness, of earthly sorrow and repentance. Every time I sat alone, the Lord was there in my heart, sympathizing with human weakness. He was there holding my face and speaking comfort, telling me to rise again. There is always hope for a believer. Our best days are not behind us, but ahead of us.
Jesus waited so long for me to respond, "I love you, with all my heart." To say, "I love you, I love you" with all the desire of a true bride. How long He patiently gave and pursued. How much His mercy is to be praised! The One who will never leave us, or give up. When no one else should like me at all; Jesus, thinks I am special. That is what the teacher tells us in kindergarten. "You are special." But, really, Jesus thinks that of us all our lives, perhaps the only person who will ever think so and value us as such. He is the love of the universe. The ever present God is very near, reaching out His words and hands of love to give new life.
"If I say, “I will not mention him,
or speak any more in his name,”
there is in my heart as it were a burning fire
shut up in my bones,
and I am weary with holding it in,
and I cannot."- Jer. 20:9

Will you perceive His loving hands....
Did you know it when Jesus touched your face with healing hands? When He spat on the ground and put the mud on your eyes to see? When with His voice, evil was rebuked and life given to you? Did you know it when those scarred hands caught you time and time again. He pushed you out of the way to take on the oncoming bus. Jesus gave all that still gives everyday of our lives. Will you know it, when all He did all your life was to love and save you? What else or more could He do but offer His own life to be slayed in your place?

A Perpetual Covenant of Peace
54 “Sing, O barren,
You who have not borne!
Break forth into singing, and cry aloud,
You who have not labored with child!
For more are the children of the desolate
Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord.
2 “Enlarge the place of your tent,
And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings;
Do not spare;
Lengthen your cords,
And strengthen your stakes.
3 For you shall expand to the right and to the left,
And your descendants will inherit the nations,
And make the desolate cities inhabited.
You who have not borne!
Break forth into singing, and cry aloud,
You who have not labored with child!
For more are the children of the desolate
Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord.

And strengthen your stakes.
3 For you shall expand to the right and to the left,
And your descendants will inherit the nations,
And make the desolate cities inhabited.
4 “Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed;
Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame;
For you will forget the shame of your youth,
And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.
5 For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.
6 For the Lord has called you
Like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit,
Like a youthful wife when you were refused,”
Says your God.
7 “For a mere moment I have forsaken you,
But with great mercies I will gather you.
8 With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment;
But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,”
Says the Lord, your Redeemer.
Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame;
For you will forget the shame of your youth,
And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.

9 “For this is like the waters of Noah to Me;
For as I have sworn
That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth,
So have I sworn
That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.
10 For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.
For as I have sworn
That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth,

11 “O you afflicted one,
Tossed with tempest, and not comforted,
Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems,
And lay your foundations with sapphires.
12 I will make your pinnacles of rubies,
Your gates of crystal,
And all your walls of precious stones.
13 All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
And great shall be the peace of your children.
14 In righteousness you shall be established;
You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear;
And from terror, for it shall not come near you.
15 Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me.
Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake.

16 “Behold, I have created the blacksmith
Who blows the coals in the fire,
Who brings forth an instrument for his work;
And I have created the spoiler to destroy.
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.
Who blows the coals in the fire,

Kwave Verse of the Day!
"A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps." ~ Proverbs 16:9
"Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.
Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart."- Psalm 32:7-11.
"O how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!... Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD"- Psalm 31:19-24.

That you be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.- Hebrews 6:12
God is a consuming fire. He will consume all in our lives that is not of Him. And even the things He has given us, He may require again. The altar is for all, an absolute surrender to the number one relationship. “As you say, my lord, O king, I am yours, and all that I have”- 1 Kings 20:4b. I'm not sure that God necessarily wants the things we give back to Him, for the sake of just having them back; God obviously does not need anything. And He desires obedience rather than sacrifice. The point of this life however, is not our earthly kingdom, establishment, or comfort. All can come or go at God's request and by His great wisdom. God has eternity in mind, in all that He does. An act that seems temporal or evil, will actually bring about a greater good somehow. God will not allow anything bad to happen that He will not bring about a greater beauty or goodness from. A fire destroys all, and yet tiny, green seedlings seem to make it through the death, just as fine and strong as ever. The life of Jesus is a thriving and conquering life that brings great victory in all that we face in our trials.
Those who are born again pray earnestly to grow closer to the Lord and desire greater faith and trust in Him. It follows that God will answer these prayers. They are His will for us to pray and for Him to answer. Therefore, God will test our trust in Him, and bring circumstances into our life that will try that trust past its previous limits. So why should I be surprised when God tries my love again and again? Would I still love Him if that fails, or if this is taken away, or if the other disappoints? At first these tests seem cruel and wasteful. Why should Abraham offer up Isaac, the promise, after 20-something years of waiting for him? God made the promise, why now would He take it away? But Abraham loved God more than Isaac, and believed Him at His word. We are called to love God more than life itself, more than any person or thing we hold dear to on this earth. That deepening love, the fellowship we experience with Jesus, is everlasting life. God plays the strings and chords of our hearts, and perhaps the sound is most beautiful in our pain. Nothing on this earth can compare with our communion with God. Our tests bring us into a sweeter fellowship with the Lord, where truly we can assent with our hearts and say, "Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever"- Psalm 73:25-26.
Will you still love God if you are separated from conscious blessings? But then we run to the next nearest resource and try that, and again and again, but the same question is asked. When no more resources remain and no plan B's are available. The question comes again, "Do you trust me? Do you love me most?"..... "But God I can't SEE it; now it really is impossible and we are all ready to give up.".... Sarah passed the age of childbearing. Maybe she thought, 'God has forgotten me; how could I have thought He even wanted to use me anyway, of course He meant to use Hagar, a better vessel than I.' Sarah forfeited the promise for herself, but God did not forfeit Sarah. God always intended that Isaac would be borne through her. Will you still trust God when your dreams seem to be taken away or your reputation is deeply humbled? I am encouraged that though Sarah lacked faith and forfeited God's promise, God did not change His plan, or forfeit Sarah.
Sarah bore Isaac, and Abraham did not have to sacrifice him afterall. But, God proved their faith in the tests and accomplished that greater purpose of faith and relationship with Himself. We must lay all we have on the altar of God and trust that He will resurrect the things that are of Him. Lay down all your burdens, plans, gifts, and loved ones on the altar. All must be placed there. Trust that as the fire burns, God is able to resurrect what is of Him. When the fire is burning we may want to give up or disbelieve, but God is able. He will resurrect the right things better and more abundant than before. And what never gets resurrected, probably would have been toxic and a snare to our spiritual walks anyway. Praise God He removes the chaff and refines the gold.
"And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life."- Matthew 19:29.
Today I wrote in Tongues... with little symbols that can't be transcribed... But! Here is a little poem instead ;)
I wish I could write some heavenly language to speak a truth of heart that can't be expressed.
The human drama of life continues and I am lost in it. We swim in it. Some of us seem to know exactly the part to play, others drift in dreams. Some, most, are not even conscious of this divine movie playing out or the plot of it.
The spirit of life makes this all worth while. Sometimes a window is given to us, where time stops and we come outer body. Then the wind is different and the sun rays more penetrating. The roll of film is taken out and shown to us, small in all its episodes, yet part of a grand story.
I watch it piece by piece, beholding the tiniest portions I can't understand. Somehow the quiet of these moments make for a sadness, but then a true peace. For what is there to be sad? What is there to be anxious for? All is vanity. It passes as we breathe. But, the spark of life gets ignited by a separate flint and again we are encouraged. There is yet hope and time for all to have life. There is a hope still... as long as we live, there is a chance for life to make it.
"The most saintly spirits are often existing in those who have never distinguished themselves as authors, or left any memorial of themselves to be the theme of the world’s talk; but who have led an interior angelic life, having borne their sweet blossoms unseen like the young lily in a sequestered vale on the bank of a limpid stream." –Kenelm Digby

Douglas Hamp was one of my teachers in Israel. He is an excellent and humble vessel of God. I love his end times teachings especially, and knowledge of the Bible. He married a jewish woman, and is fluent in hebrew. Here is an amazing teaching on what chosen, predestined, and other words mean in the Bible. It has explained so much for me. I hope it blesses you.

God is Beautiful
Sitting
alone with God in the Colorado wilderness (CCBC Colorado). This music
is from my ipod that I sometimes took with me as I sat and watched creation
:) God would put a show for me,sometimes by sending eagles, geese,
falling golden leaves, or light rain. I could sit here for hours at
Jesus' feet. Spend time with your King of Kings and Lord of Lords. For
though He is the Alpha and the Omega, He calls us friends.
"I am my Beloved's and His desire is for me"
- Song of Solomon 7:10.
The Word of God is Alive!
"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not
return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it
shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it"- Isaiah 55:11.
"Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord.’”- Ezekiel 37:11-14

I can't believe it is already November!! Yay. This year has flown by!
Nov. 1 Waiting is Hard:
“When the cloud tarried . . . then the children of Israel . . . journeyed not” (Num. 9:19).
This was the supreme test of obedience. It was comparatively easy to strike tents, when the fleecy folds of the cloud were slowly gathering from off the Tabernacle, and it floated majestically before the host. Change is always delightful; and there was excitement and interest in the route, the scenery, and the locality of the next haltingplace. But, ah, the tarrying.
Then, however uninviting and sultry the location, however trying to flesh and blood, however irksome to the impatient disposition, however perilously exposed to danger-there was no option but to remain encamped.
The Psalmist says, “I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.” And what He did for the Old Testament saints He will do for believers throughout all ages.
Still God often keeps us waiting. Face to face with threatening foes, in the midst of alarms, encircled by perils, beneath the impending rock. May we not go? Is it not time to strike our tents? Have we not suffered to the point of utter collapse? May we not exchange the glare and heat for green pastures and still waters?
There is no answer. The cloud tarries, and we must remain, though sure of manna, rock-water, shelter, and defence. God never keeps us at post without assuring us of His presence, and sending us daily supplies.
Wait, young man, do not be in a hurry to make a change! Minister, remain at your post! Until the cloud clearly moves, you must tarry. Wait, then, thy Lord’s good pleasure! He will be in plenty of time!–Daily Devotional Commentary
An hour of waiting!
Yet there seems such need
To reach that spot sublime!
I long to reach them–but I long far more
To trust HIS time!
“Sit still, my daughter”–Yet the heathen die,
They perish while I stay!
I long to reach them–but I long far more
To trust HIS way!
‘Tis good to get,
‘Tis good indeed to give!
Yet is it better still–O’er breadth, thro’ length, down length, up height, To trust HIS will! –F. M. N.

The Blessed Obscurity
“For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden
with Christ in God”- Colossians 3:3
Oh the blessedness of obscurity! When you can love your Lover
in secret intimacy, not being disturbed by the glory of man, which has been to
many their downfall. How blessed when you can serve God in quiet faithfulness,
learning to put all your heart and upmost attention into the small details, as
unto the Lord. How blessed you are to be obscure, a nobody in this world,
having died to it, but being of attention and value to Heaven! Obscurity has
been teaching me great delights about the heart of God, like how He would leave
the 99 to go and save just one lost sheep. And how God is looking for our faith
and quality of person in daily living, not just our quota of visible production
for Him. In obscurity, God is refining our
quality of character, our faith, and making us those who can persevere in difficult
times ahead.
It is easy to be close to God and passionate, when things go
our way and serving Him is fast paced and thrilling. But when we descend the mountaintop and are
made to be faithful and tested in the valley of endurance, then our real person
is exposed. Let us not be so caught up in the greater picture or anxiousness
about the future that we miss the precious opportunities now or trample over
lost sheep. In Acts, Philip left his whole church just to reach out to the one Ethiopian
eunuch. In our production driven, fast passed society, this would seem so
inefficient. But God has his eye on the lost sheep, and He would stop the world
to rescue them. "What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and
one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains
and go and search for the one that is straying?” – Matthew 18:12
We cannot judge how to glorify God the most. It is easy to
think that perhaps the great evangelists glorify God the most, because they make
a great numbers of converts. Though I do believe God is greatly glorified by
great evangelists evangelizing, the whole body of Christ is used in making
disciples. We can each glorify God "the most" by simply fulfilling our created potential in Christ, by God's grace. Everyone has a role, whether it is to be obscure, perhaps a faithful housewife and mother, or a
faithful hardworking man, setting up chairs at church and investing in his kids at home. Some people will one day be the pastors or an honest and Godly politician, but must still be obscure for a
season. This is then the blessed chance to be faithful in little things and to
glorify God in daily living and obedience now. Obscurity is a great privilege. When
we learn to delight in God and be content wherever He has us, this is great
gain! “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of
God”- 1 Corinthians 10:31.
Where God has us presently is the most exciting place we can be, because the Most High has ordained our steps and is with us. Let us ask God to open our eyes to His great
goodness and opportunities to live for Him here and now. "The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy"- Psalm 126:3
Joseph, Moses, and even Jesus all had times of great obscurity in their lives. Jesus was poor and a carpenter. Joseph was falsely accused and abandoned to prison for over 10 years, forgotten by all. Moses lived on the backside of a desert for 40 years as a nobody, in humility from having fallen from so high a position in Pharaoh’s Court. But God was with them. The desert and obscure times are imperative for God to form Christ-likeness and endurance in us. He is forging us into leaders and servants who can be strong and faithful to lead others through difficulties later on, just like Moses and Joseph. Be a lover of God, and worship Him now with all your heart.

my eyes are not raised too high;

too great and too marvelous for me.

Song of Solomon part 2
Song of Songs, or Song of Solomon, means the song of all songs. The love story between Christ and His bride is the ultimate love song.
"This is Solomon’s song of songs, more wonderful than any other." 1:1
Young Woman-
2" Kiss me and kiss me again,
for your love is sweeter than wine.
3 How fragrant your cologne;
your name is like its spreading fragrance.
No wonder all the young women love you!
4 Take me with you; come, let’s run!
The king has brought me into his bedroom." (NLT)
for your love is sweeter than wine.
3 How fragrant your cologne;
your name is like its spreading fragrance.
No wonder all the young women love you!
4 Take me with you; come, let’s run!
The king has brought me into his bedroom." (NLT)
In Song of Solomon, Solomon names his lover, "Shulamite," which means, "little Solomon." She is endeared to and named after Him. We are also endeared to and named after our lover/husband. We are called "Christians," which means "little Christs." We are identified with and belonging to Christ, our Lord and husband. The good name of Jesus is as ointment to us: it anoints, perfumes, and blesses us as belonging to Him. We start to smell like Jesus, and become His fragrance that spreads.
I love how Solomon names his lover after him; she will begin to identify with him and carry his fragrance. His name anoints her. A wife takes the name of her husband and delights that his name is as perfume upon her.
All the virgins desire the King, because he is a good man with a good name. He is the kind of man the virgins love (KJV). The saints are also attracted to Jesus. Having been saved from the world and being sancitified, we are no longer attracted to the "bad boy"/satan. Jesus is the kind of King that saints love and want to marry.
The Shulamite wants Solomon to draw her, and yet she is also willing to follow him. She is taken into the palace in verse 4. When we get saved, we accept to trust in Jesus. We want to join him and say, "take me with you" (NLT) and "I will run after you" (KJV). Then God takes us in as part of His family. We enter His chambers (KJV), the Kingdom and family of God. Out of all the others, Solomon chose the Shulamite to be his bride and come to live in his chambers. Jesus has also chosen us out of the world to be His bride.
Song of Solomon part 1
Introduction:
In Jerusalem, about this same time two years ago, I first read Song of Solomon as unto God, while sitting by myself on the top of a hill overlooking the old city. It was the first time I started reading the book as a love story between the King and me. It was difficult at first, because I had trouble understanding how such intimacy could possibly be between God and I. At times the reading felt too awkward to be referring to God, and then I would switch to thinking of an earthly man. I read Song of Solomon again, a year later at the same time (2011 fall season), through a Bible Study with Jenny Christiansen. Through her inspired teaching and explaining, it was then that the words of this book personally came alive to me and started revealing Jesus' heart for each of us to enter into mature love and oneness with Him (as well as an incredible guide for a future marriage relationship!).
After each Friday morning Song of Solomon study, I couldn't help but quickly get alone with the love of my life and meditate on what He had just spoken to me. "My beloved spake, Rise up, my fair one, and come away"- 2:10. I was overwhelmed with awe at God's love for me. How is it possible that we could ravish God's heart with one look of our eyes? These truths so moved me, that I started to write a poem for God in worshipful response to each new passage we read in study. I am now reading Song of Solomon again (same time of year!), and again I am strangely overwhelmed with desire to write in response to what I read. Maybe not everything will make it on this blog, but as Song of Solomon's sister Psalm says, "My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe"- Psalm 45:1. It seems that even the writer of Psalm 45 was deeply moved to write about the King's marriage. And since I believe Jesus is coming soon for His bride, Song of Solomon is ever more dear to my heart.
"Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices"- 8:14.
"Real love is always fated. It has been arranged before time. It is the most meticulously prepared of coincidences. And fate, of course, is simply a secular term for the will of God, and coincidence for His grace."- The Mystery of Marriage.

Can God Trust You with His Silence?
"When He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was" —John 11:6
A wonderful thing about God’s silence is that His stillness is contagious— it gets into you, causing you to become perfectly confident so that you can honestly say, “I know that God has heard me.” His silence is the very proof that He has. As long as you have the idea that God will always bless you in answer to prayer, He will do it, but He will never give you the grace of His silence. If Jesus Christ is bringing you into the understanding that prayer is for the glorifying of His Father, then He will give you the first sign of His intimacy— silence."
